Travellers moved on from land

Police were called after a group of travellers arrived in Willesborough on Friday night.

Eight caravans were parked on land off Hunter Avenue.

Officers attended and deferred the matter to Ashford Borough Council, which owns the land.

The travellers left the same day.

Aylesford Green ward Cllr Alex Howard said: “A traveller group moved onto the land on Hunter Avenue opposite Orion Way. I’ve visited the site a number of times and they were moved on.” A council spokesman said: “Council officers liaised with police to move them on, which they subsequently did, leaving the borough on Friday evening.”
