New Ashford won’t be built in a day
So, dear old Stuart Barton is at it again (‘Town centre vibrant – that’s stretching it a bit’, June 15)
Good shops require plenty of footfall, so the regularity of his negative remarks won’t help.
With new homes being built close to the High Street, this should make it more worthwhile for other retailers to invest here.
The outskirts of the town certainly look welcoming, with a neat and tidy Drovers roundabout a picture this week, as are most of the others, since apparently Ashford Borough Council took over the maintenance.
