Kennington beat Ramsgate Corinthian by one run in a 1A East thriller on Saturday.

James Iles (75) and Joe Jolley (66) helped Kennington to 219-4 in their 40 overs.

However, the home side looked on course for a dramatic victory until Jolley bowled Ross Howells for 68 with the penultimate ball of the match.

Ramsgate came up short at 218-8 with Jamie Carroll and Jeremy Grove both taking two wickets for Kennington.

Elsewhere in the division, another close match saw Wye come out on top at Margate.

William Elgar top scored with 44 in Wye’s 181-6 before Daniel Noden (4-32) helped them keep the home side to 174-9.

Mersham Sports, chasing 191 to beat Bexley 3rds in the Premier Division, were bowled out for just 102.

In 1B East, Bradlee Sharpe’s 102 not out was in vain as Mersham 2nds lost to Minster (Ramsgate) by 18 runs.

Minster batted first and made 222-9 (Gavin Wilson 4-30) before Mersham, despite Sharpe’s unbeaten century, closed their 40 overs on 204-8.

Willesborough also tasted defeat, reaching 169-7 in reply to Hawkinge’s 204-8.

Tenterden 3rds were convincing winners at home to Ash 2nds in 1C East.

They scored 202-5 and then dismissed Ash for 104 with Mark Baker taking 3-27.

Elsewhere in the division, Ashford 3rds were all out for 139 chasing 157 at Boughton & Eastwell.
