Search team to the rescue

A vulnerable pensioner at the centre of a police search has been found. Edward Jones had been last seen at noon on Monday walking towards South Ashford from the railway station. His family were worried, as the 73-year-old sometimes gets confused and is known to be quite vulnerable and frail. But members of Kent Search and Rescue located Mr Jones close to Ashford town centre on Tuesday night and he was taken into the care of a medical team. A police spokesman said: “We would like to express our thanks to Kent Search and Rescue and to everyone else that helped with this appeal.”
