Residents are invited to take part in the revised Local Plan consultation, which will run until the end of August.
Cabinet member for planning and development Cllr Paul Clokie said: “This is an important document, and one which will have a big impact on the borough’s future, therefore we have arranged for a series of exhibitions where council officers will be on hand to explain the proposed changes.
“We hope residents take the opportunity to find out more and take part in this consultation.”
There will be meetings held across the borough, and residents can take part online by visiting www.ashford.gov.uk/localplan-to-2030. been earmarked in Aldington, Brook, Challock, Chilham, Hamstreet, High Halden, Mersham, St Michael’s, Wittersham and Woodchurch.
The largest of the village developments is at Charing, where land to the west of the Poppyfields estate could see the construction of 180 more homes.
Finally, the council has also looked at the former Bombardier works at Chart Leacon as a potential brownfield site, depending on whether Southeastern and Network Rail still require it in future.
The council has launched a consultation about the plans, which will run until Thursday, August 31.
