Access and MP mark a milestone
The annual general meeting of the Ashford Access Group takes place this Saturday.
It’s no ordinary meeting as the group is celebrating its 20th birthday and the patron, Ashford MP Damian Green, is celebrating his 20th anniversary of becoming an MP.
Mr Green will be the guest speaker. He will also present a gold award to Broad Oak BMW for their efforts towards those who were nominated by the former Access disability audit officer, Paul Hardisty, before his death earlier in the year.
Over the past year the Access group working on the town centre toilet scheme and with William Harvey Hospital, including the new disabled parking layout, wheelchair provision and improved signage.
After being involved with the Farrow Court development in Stanhope, Ashford Access is now a key consultee on the proposed Danemore development near Tenterden.
The meeting will take place on Saturday at the Furley Hall, Ashford at 11am. Anyone is welcome.
