Spell-binding show with a royal link

-

A teenage magician put on a spell-binding performance at the wedding of Sarah Ferguson’s personal assistant.

The special powers of former Homewood pupil Lewis Fuller, 19, were called upon for the nuptials of Sofia Hurding (nee Adkins) on Saturday, July 1 at Pratts Farm, near Chelmsford.

It’s not the first time that Lewis, who is from Biddenden, has appeared in front of the Duchess of York, as he performed at a gala dinner hosted by her at the Merchants Taylors’ Hall in London last summer.

Lewis, who is also a singer, mingled with guests at the wedding breakfast, when the champagne corks were popping and the photographs taken, doing close-up magic involving cards, coins and personal belongings.

Hiss interest in magic stemmed from the age of 10 and he said. “I started doing magic tricks after my dad brought me a basic magic box as a present and I never stopped.”

He has performed his tricks in front of a number of celebrities including Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross and has worked as a professional magician for the last three years, recently launching his own company The Singing Magician UK.

Lewis was introduced to the wedding guests by the duchess before he rounded off the day’s entertainment by singing two Michael Buble numbers.
