CRASH CAUSES QUEUES

The event got off to a slow start, after visitors on day one were faced with long queues into the showground.

A serious crash involving two lorries on the M20 left one driver in hospital and debris strewn across the carriageway, causing the motorway to be shut, then partially closed, for nearly 10 hours.

The accident happened Londonbound at Junction 7 for the A249 at 3.25am and a man was taken to a London hospital with head, chest, abdominal and foot injuries. They were not believed to be life-threatening.

It meant hundreds of exhibitors, volunteers, and visitors to the show got stuck
