Fun day in memory of Lulabelle

-

A special family fun day is being held in memory of a baby who died on New Year’s Eve.

Lulabelle Snow Hurst died suddenly in her sleep last December at the age of one. It was later found that she had influenza.

Her family members are now trying to raise awareness by setting up The Lulabelle Hurst Foundation to prevent the deaths of young infants.

They run activities to raise money that is then invested in equipment such as bed alarms to monitor young children.

They also arrange pre-paid counselling sessions for people who have suffered a bereavement.

A family fun day is being held by the foundation this Sunday to celebrate what would have been Lulabelle’s second birthday.

The fun day on Kingsnorth playing fields will run from 11am to 3pm and will have a range of activities including character meet-and-greets, a mini-pantomime, bouncy castle, games, a hog roast, funfair rides and a raffle, with the top prize being a holiday to Egypt.

Lulabelle’s dad, Jamie Hurst, said: “People have been so generous with the fun day so far. It’s all about raising money and awareness.

“If we had checked on Lulabelle just 30 minutes earlier it might have been a different story.

“We just want to raise awareness and stop people going through what we have.”
