LGBT music night is a first

-

A trendy live music venue and college has unveiled a line-up of events including guitar tribute acts and the town’s only gay night.

The Music Hub Ashford is an independent training provider where youngsters can showcase their musical talents and hone their skills and knowledge.

It provides a college education space and also has a late night venue, The Attic, where live music is played.

On Saturday, The Attic will host the town’s LGBT night with tunes from the 80s and 90s, cocktails and facepaints from 8pm.

Owner Kate Holton said: “There is currently no events for the LGBT community in Ashford. The choices are to go to one of the existing club nights, or to go further afield to somewhere like Canterbury or London where there is more choice.

“We really hope to make this first event a success so that we can do something on the third Saturday of every month. We really hope we can bring the local LGBT community together. Regardless of sexuality, we welcome everyone to make this event a success.”

Then on Thursday, September 21, Bridge of Sighs will be performing a tribute to musician Robin Trower, with support coming from M.U.T.O., from 7pm.

The first event will be held tonight (Thursday) from 5pm to 11pm, where The Music Hub will make announcements about progress of the company and college, with live music from 7pm.

The venue is in Norwood Street, behind The Phoenix pub. For more information visit www. musichubkent.co.uk or call 01233 877440.
