Three legs better than two in pair’s challenge

-

A husband and wife team will unite to raise cash for the Pilgrims Hospice.

Marilyn (Maz) and Gary Kirton, who both work for the charity in Hythe Road, will walk and run on three legs at the A Night to Shine walk later this month.

The pair – who have already raised more than £2,000 for the charity this year – will take part in the event on Saturday, September 30.

A Night to Shine will bring together people of all ages in walking courses of up to 10km while dressed in event-branded T-shirts and carrying paper lanterns in memory of a loved one.

Gary said: “After joining Maz working at Pilgrims Hospices back in 2011, we both felt compelled to start fundraising ourselves.

“Every day we meet so many people that are supported both as patients and families and know how important the work done here is.”

A Night to Shine will take place in Ashford, Broadstairs and Canterbury on Saturday, September 30 at 7pm (registration from 6pm).

The Ashford walks, over 5km and 10km routes, start from the Julie Rose Stadium, Willesborough Road, TN24 9QX. The walks cost £15 for adults and £10 for children in advance, or £20 for adults and £15 for children on the night.
