Andrea Jane Halford said: “Quite a few group owners of Kent Paranormal teams are angry about the slight on our character.

“We would dearly like to put the record straight. We are spiritual people, who do not believe in disrespecting a haunted place.

“I have been ghost hunting for more than 20 years and never come across a group vandalising anywhere.

“We constantly get the blame and it is not right.

“We have stopped vandals in actual fact. We never disrespect the dead, it is not our aim nor goal.”
