M20 crash causes long delays

Rush-hour traffic was brought to a near-halt on the M20 after an accident on Monday afternoon.

Two lanes were closed and traffic was slow on the remaining lane on the costbound carriageway near junction 10 following a two-car collision just before 5.15pm.

Lanes two and three were closed and police and paramedics were quickly at the scene.

A police spokesman said: “We received a report of a collision involving two cars on the coastbound M20 near Junction 10 at 5.13pm on Monday.”

Traffic had to held up to remove the damaged vehicles and allow for the reopening of the entire stretch of road.

One of the lanes was re-opened by 6.35pm but the road did fully re-open until about 7.15pm
