Trains delayed over rail scare

-

Services at Ashford International Station were delayed on Tuesday morning after concerns for the welfare of a man seen near the tracks.

A temporary block was put on trains going in and out of the busy station after fears were raised over his safety.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “We were called at 9.44am. Although he did not go onto the tracks a precautionary block was put on the railway lines. The man was taken away by an ambulance.”

Southeastern alerted its passengers to the delays after reports of a trespasser. Services were running normally again by lunchtime.
