Put names to the different scarecrows

Hamstreet’s fourth Scarecrow Trail this Sunday will raise funds for the Ruckinge & Hamstreet Scouts and Guides.

Families across the village are busy building their entries and it’s expected about 50 scarecrows will be on display with visitors able to match names with the correct numbered scarecrow.

Maps will be available from the village hall for a small charge.

Everyone who gets all the names correct goes into a draw with three people receiving a small prize. Visitors can also vote for their three favourite scarecrows, each of which will also receive a prize. The trail opens at 10am and closes at 4pm.

Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers will create a line of coins around The Green and hope visitors will donate their loose change. A barbecue, teas and cakes will be available alongside craft stalls and a face painter.
