Rally round for classic show

A Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and Austin 7s are among the classic vehicles expected to arrive in Tenterden for a weekend rally.

The Austin Counties Car Club brings its rally to the Kent and East Sussex Railway (KESR) on Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15, with the event coinciding with the club’s 25th anniversary.

About 30 classic cars will feature in the rally to be centred around Tenterden station and the Colonel Stephens Railway Museum from 10am to 5pm each day.

The rally is open to railway visitors, who will receive a 10% discount if booking online in advance, and members of the Austin Counties Car Club.

The Colonel Stephens Railway Museum will be open throughout the weekend, with free entry to ticket holders.

It documents the life of Colonel Stephens the founder of the KESR and promoter of light railways across the country.

Admission, including an all-day travel card, is £18 for adults, £12 for children, and a family ticket £38.
