Charities in the running for award
Nominations for the fourth Kent Charity Awards have been announced.
The annual accolades, which will culminate with an evening gala next March, recognise individuals and groups who go that extra mile. Charities up for the main award include Motor Neurone Disease Association East Kent, pet foundation Hypo Hounds, which trains dogs to assist children living with diabetes and technology charity Compaid.
Nikki Gough, from Shepway Chariots, is up for trustee of the year after she kickstarted her plans of transforming a plot of land into a community garden.
Founded by Sarah MacDonald and Jo Hage from Rise Communications, the awards receive hundreds of nominations each year. They are free to enter and the deadline for entries is October 27.
