GOLF:

Good scoring was the order of the day in this year’s Littlestone Warren ladies’ open.

Eighteen teams took part in the competition, which adopted a best two scores format and was played in excellent weather. The winners were the Ashford GC team of Lizzie Webb, Tina Brookes and Pauline Pfeiffer, with 90 points.

They edged the team from West Malling of Pat West, Gina Wilson and Kim Wellman, on countback.

In third place were Jennifer Boorman, Diana Phipps and Cheryl Sturdy, from Weald of Kent.

Nearest the line was Barbara Street from Chestfield and nearest the pin on the fourth hole was Lizzie Webb from Ashford.
