South Willesboro­ugh maintained their 100% record at the top of Division 1 with another victory at the weekend.

They won 9-2 at Lydd 3rds but were given an early scare by the hosts.

The leaders conceded a penalty in the first five minutes which was converted by Kyle Hobson but equalised when Kenny Denton scored his first with a scissor kick at the back post.

Goals from Brad Parker and Ryan Carter put the visitors in charge at 3-1.

Denton scored again, from a long-range free-kick but then had to go off of injured.

Lydd pulled a goal back through Hobson but South Willesboro­ugh restored their three-goal lead through Jamie Dobbin with the first half ending 5-2 in the visitors’ favour.

Carter netted in the second half and Conor Little made it 7-2.

Little then had a goal disallowed but Dobbin found the net and Carter finished off the scoring with his hat-trick goal.

In the only Premier Division game, secondplac­ed Charing were held 3-3 by Hythe Grovellers.

Charing’s goals came from Adam Luke, Oli Prior and Sam Waldman, while James Nutall, Bryn Yorath and Sam Newman netted for Hythe. In League Cup action, Premier Division leaders Smarden beat Division 1 Lydd & Marsh Under-21s 5-0 in Group A.

George Dyke hit a double and their were further goals from Ben Allen, Ross Breen and Charlie Banks, while Andrew Possee kept a clean sheet.

Jamie Cartwright achieved the same feat for Woodchurch, who were even more emphatic winners in a Group B match, beating Biddenden 8-0.

Anthony Bodle and Tom Bugden both hit doubles, while efforts from Ashley Trelfer, Ben Holt and Billy Beaney, together with an own goal, made up the tally
