Kent Sunday Junior Cup
Lolzors, Ashford Cavaliers and AFC Ashford Athletic all progressed to the quarter finals, the first time that three Ashford Sunday League teams have all reached that stage of the competition.
Ryan Carter’s hat-trick helped Lolzors beat Rochester 4-2 after extra-time. Stephen Fuller scored the Division 1 side’s other goal.
Another hat-trick man, Steve Ward, helped Ashford Cavaliers put their name in the hat for the last eight draw as Andy Ward’s side beat Thanet League side Schulz & Moore 5-3. Frankie Comparetto and Anthony Finch also scored for the hosts.
A ruthless second-half performance saw Ashford Athletic become the third team from the league safely through to the next round as they beat Westerham 3-0 at Pitchside.
Second-half goals from Morgan Regardsoe, Justin Howard and Martin Henry (penalty) saw Athletic through. finals thanks to a 5-0 home victory against AFC Burnham at Charing Heath.
Two goals from top scorer Radislav Davidov put Heathens on their way against the North Kent Sunday League opponents.
Further goals from Zana Hamdi, Tom Head and Artsoms Andrejevs completed the scoring.
Joe Valler’s goal wasn’t nearly enough for Division 3 leaders Bromley Green, who were beaten 6-1 by Sheppey side Red Lion at Waterside. beat Mersham Sports Reserves 4-3 to extend their lead at the top to four points.
Mersham took the game to Galacticos and scored three times against the pacesetters through Jack Griffin, Craig Lang and Brad Webber.
However, Galacticos replied with goals from James Hamilton, Dan Pinder, Steven Irvine and Johan Du Toit.
Burton Grove remain in second but lost ground on the leaders after they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Willesborough Athletic. James Ross and Richard Long (penalty) put Burton 2-0 ahead.
However, Willesborough levelled through Matt Jarvis and player-manager Brad Sharpe. At the other end of the table, South Willesborough won 2-1 at home to Ashford Cavaliers. Goals from Mike Norris and Michael Lockyer proved the difference. Matt Moon was on target for Cavaliers.
