ASHFORD STRIDERS: FORBES LEADS THE WAY IN PARKRUN

Duncan Forbes was first home for Ashford Striders in the town’s parkrun on Saturday, finishing 14th overall out of 301 runners.

Greg Johnson was next to finish for the club in 24.09, 64th overall, with Justin Burden next in 24.48, 73rd.

Alison Waters was just behind in a personal best time of 24.52, 76th overall and 12th female finisher. Reece Corner came home next in 26.35, followed by Rachel Forrester in 27.38. Amelia Letteboer finished the run in 29.38 with Mel Cox just behind in 29.53.

Rachel Oliver was next in 30.16, closely followed by Rachel Brisley (30.28), Kevin York (30.29) and Mark Archer (30.38).

Brian Forrester set a PB finishing in 31.05 with wife Hazel Forrester close behind in 31.12. Toyah Bicker also set a personal best with a time of 32.27, and Danielle Moss finished in 45.39.

Nicola Crawley took part in the Cambridge parkrun finishing in a time of 28.29. Brian Marsh was further afield in Weymouth, where he ran the 5k distance in 23.27.

The day after, Crawley completed the Cambridge Half-Marathon in an excellent time of 1:59.44

Danielle MacKenzie was the lone Strider as she battled the elements at Eastbourne in the half-marathon, finishing the race in 2:46.26. Dave Hunt also completed two races. He ran the Saxons, Vikings & Normans Marathon

Day Marathon in Walmer last Tuesday in beautiful weather in a time of 4:26.49. He then took part in the reschedule­d Bedgebury Forest 10 mile race on Sunday in a time of 1:37.20.
