ASHFORD STRIDERS: HENWOOD LEADS WAY

There were a large number of Ashford Striders taking part in the parkrun in the town on Saturday.

Both Andy Found, with 27min 19sec, and Kay Green (32.55) achieved personal best times.

First to finish the 5k for the Striders and sixth overall was Jacob Henwood in 20.14, followed by Kath Atkinson in 21.06.

Other Striders times: Paul McDonnell 21.07, Linda-Jean Delport 22.17, Justin Burden 23.23, Brian Marsh 23.36, Josh Whiten 24.15, Steve Rumsey 26.15, Vicky Stevenson 27.10 Shane Snowwolf 28.28, Becca Hurley 28.39, Tamsin Ritchie 28.47, Mark Archer 30.04, Brian Forrester 30.31, Rachel Theobold 31.02, Kevin York 31.02, David Gadsby 31.21, Hannah Lothian 32.47, and Toyah Bicker 1:01.59. Mark Archer, Toyah Bicker, Hazel Forrester, Cris Francis, Jacob Henwood, Tricia Lovell, Kirsty Theobold and Jason Wearn were volunteers.

Lee Standen took part in the Wormwood Scrubs parkrun, finishing in 29.48.

Rachel Oliver and Jason Sanders completed the Cyclopark parkrun in 31.15 and 26.26 respective­ly, while Danielle Moss gained a course PB at Folkestone in 38.43.

Sanders and Tyree Spicer completed a halfmarath­on at the Cyclopark Summer Series in 2:26.26 and 2:26.59 respective­ly. Becca Hurley completed the half-marathon on Sunday in 2:39.28.

Taking part on Sunday morning at the Great Run Local were Brian Marsh (23.49), Alison Waters (26.32) and Cris Francis (24.21) in the 5k, and Tamsin Ritchie 11.35 in the 2k. A selection of Striders took on the Canterbury Half-Marathon in the heat on Monday. Chris Sardo was first to finish in 1:53.44, followed by Shane Snowwolf (2:27.47) and Nicki Crawley (2:32.13).
