look to improve in all areas of the field.

“We could have made it a lot easier for ourselves with the number of chances we had, but that seems to be the recurring theme at the moment,” he said.

“But I suppose to be disappointed that you haven’t won the game by more is the best negative you can have.

“Everyone worked really hard on a very hot day, and we improved massively from the match against Sittingbourne.

“Working on our organisation is a key focus at the moment, and you can see that we’re continuing to create chances and address ourselves defensively.”

It took the travelling side just five minutes to open the scoring at East Court.

Defender Aboagye looped a deep cross into the hosts’ penalty box, and forward Condon managed to squeeze a shot underneath keeper Brannon Daly.

Despite conceding an equaliser to O’Shaye Giraud-Hutchinson midway through the half, Warrilow’s side re-took the lead with less than 10 minutes to go until the break.

Aboagye was yet again involved, the right-back unleashing a terrific shot from inside the penalty area that made sure United carried on their record of scoring at least twice in every game this season.

After missing a penalty shortly after the interval, striker Smith got his ninth goal of the season late on, combining with strike-partner Condon to nod in his side’s third of the game.

Warrilow says the addition of new signing Condon will benefit the team on and off the field.

“He’s just a very good player, and an honest lad who seems like a perfect fit in our changing room. It was nice to turn up at the game with a new player who wasn’t known to the other team. Sometimes it makes a change for a player not to be announced on social media!”

Ashford: Mott, Aboagye, Kamara, Wisson, McIntyre, Henry, Walder, Kwayie, Prescott, Condon, Smith. Subs: Gold, Ibrahiym, Osinfolarin, May, Hook. Attendance: 113 Smarden defeated South Willesborough 3-2 in the Weald of Kent Charity Cup, but it took a goal in extra time for them to do it. A lacklustre performance from the home side nearly cost them the game, with a 90th minute belter into the top corner from Dave Law making it 2-2. Paul Newman had scored their first goal. Smarden pinched a third goal from substitute Pete Sikora in extra time to win the game. Folkestone Town’s Connor West, Nathan Sims, Christian Prebble and Brendon King were on target in a 4-1 Premier Division win against Woodchurch.

In Division 1, Bromley Green emerged 4-1 victors from their derby with Pilgrims at Great Chart but if the home team had not been so profligate in front of goal, it could have been a different story.

Green youngsters Piotr Ceglowski and Ilja Seleznous made impressive adult debuts, while Craig Clifford at the back and Joe Burden in midfield led by example.

Fine stops by keeper Kieran Smith kept Pilgrims at bay when they should have forced a closer scoreline.

Bromley Green’s goals came from Ryan Carter, Richard Floyd, Jordan Osborne (penalty) and Connor Friday. Kris Melachrino bagged four goals as Biddenden won 8-1 at Woodchurch Reserves. Ashley Craig (2) and Tom Draper (2) were also on target for the visitors.

In the Charity Trophy, Lenham beat Charing 9-2. Lenham’s goals came from Joe Walker (3), Jack Walker (3), Shaun Palmer, Richard Davidson and Bobby Sulsch, with Charing replying through Sam West and Adrian Bagshaw.
