ASHFORD STRIDERS: SIX RUNNERS AT THEIR BEST IN PARKRUN

Saturday saw a large number of Ashford Striders take part in the town’s 307th parkrun.

Celebratin­g their personal bests this week were Linda Jean Delport (20min 52sec), Steve Rumsey (24.17), Jason Brice (29.09), Peter Broom (29.10), John Mitchell (29.18) and Leanne Clark (34.46). The second Strider to finish was Justin Burden in 22.20 followed by Shane Snowwolf in 24.02.

Danielle Moss travelled to Hampshire to take part in the Portsmouth Lakeside parkrun, finishing in 38.00. Rachel Misson and Scott Williams ran the Amsterdam Marathon, coming home in 6hr 19min 58sec and

6:20.01 respective­ly. Rachel completed her challenge of taking part in 50 marathons by the age of 50 celebratin­g her birthday last week. Gary McIntosh completed the distance in 5.03.42.

Chris Sardo travelled to Portugal to take part in the Lisbon Marathon and finished in 4:07.30.

A group of Striders travelled down to the south coast to take part in the 90s themed 30th Great South Run in

Portsmouth.

Celebratin­g personal bests were Linda Jean Delport (1:11.24) and Jason Sanders (1:23.23). Nicki Crawley completed the 10 miles in 1:29.32 followed by Helen Weeden (1:31.30), Jason Wearn (1:34.04), Jason Wearn (1:34.04) and Danielle Moss (2:13.56).

Greg Johnson took part in the Great Local Run on Sunday, completing the 5k in 25.07.

Jacob Henwood took on the Great King’s Colour Run and Reece Corner completed the Thanet Colour run, both of which are not chip timed.
