To Pimlico: The Ealing Studios Comedy group will be presenting ‘To Pimlico’, Friday November 29, 7.30pm, the Village Hall. An accidental explosion unearths a cellar containing riches and a charter ceding the surrounding area to the Duke of Burgundy. So Pimlico is now part of the Duchy of Burgundy and no longer subject to post war British Law. Tickets are £5 from Marilyn on 758586. There will be a bar, ice cream and snacks on sale.

At the last meeting we had an amazing display of Two Fateful Years in Germany 1938/1939. Anthony Hickey explained the history connected to the stamps and postal history. We all said it was one of the best evenings we had seen and understood. Our next meeting is on Wednesday November 20. Peter O’Keefe will give the postal history of Rhodesia. This will be another fascinating evening and on Monday December 2, Paul Cahill will display his Swiss Airmails and he will include Liechtenstein. Tinnitus Support Group:
Local deaf charity, Hi Kent will be hosting its next meeting of the Ashford Tinnitus Support Group on Friday December 6, 2-4pm at The Small Hall, St Mary’s Community Centre, Rylands Road, Kennington, Ashford TN24 9LH. This is a local support group for people living with tinnitus where they can share experiences and coping strategies. Collette Bunker from the British Tinnitus Association will be speaking. Geoff Jenkins recited the Epistle reading with David Potter reading the roll of honour and John Evans the Ode of Remembrance.. Andrew Grimsshaw recited the Kohima Prayer and Parish Council member Tony Dodd laid the poppy wreath. Thanks extended to the committee of the village hall for allowing St. Peter’s Church to use the facilities .

The Christmas Market will be home to local artisan food producers, street food, gifts for Christmas, festive crafts, Santa’s grotto, pop up art installations, street entertainment, live music, an exhibition, sparkling light parade, and more. Over 80 stalls will be in the High Street and there will be a giant snow machine sprinkling ‘snow’ over shoppers. Santa will be making a return again this year to the delight of the little children.
