ASHFORD STRIDERS ROUND-UP
Three Ashford Striders took part in the Samphire Challenge, over a half-marathon distance. Lee Standen finished in 2hr 26min 29sec, Tyree Spicer in 2:27.16 and Jason Sanders in 2:27.23.
Also on Friday, Shane Snowwolf completed 22 miles (five laps) at the Rye Harbour Winter Chase in 4:18.50 while Andy Found ran 17.6 miles (4.4 laps) in 3:06.11.
At Ashford parkrun on Saturday, Josh Whiten (23min 18sec) and Steve Rumsey (24.13) ran personal best times. Paul McDonnell was the first Strider to finish in 18.44, followed by Jason Wearn in 23.02.

Two Striders travelled further afield. John Mitchell was in Scotland and achieved a personal best at the Inverness parkrun in 30.48 and Jacob Henwood finished the Burgess parkrun in 21.29.
Alice Cook and Sara Hunt completed the Brett Owler Half Marathon in 2:01.11 and 2:20.35 respectively. Riona Sparks was the first Strider to complete the 10k, in 1:09.51, followed by Matthew Dewit 1:12.12, Toyah Bicker 1:26.40 and Danielle Moss 1:26.43. Sarahjane Knight ran the 5k MoRun, in 39.06.
Larsen (1:49.03), finishing first and third ladies respectively.
Taking third place in her age group, Aurelie Morris was next home for the club in 2:00.24. Keith Lynn was next in 2:09.25, followed by Sarah Taylor in 2:55.16.
Two l aps of mud and two gruelling battles with ‘ Heartbreak Hill’ were no match for Rik Holden and Massah Cooper. Marathon man Holden finished sixth overall and first in his age category with a time of 3:40.03; Cooper finished second in her age category and fourth lady, with a time of 4:50.17.
The weekly 5k Ashford parkrun saw Paul Ridley 14th overall in 19.47, closely followed by Paul Moses (20.01). Carl Ireland marked a parkrun PB of 20.48, followed by Mark Attenborough in 21.03 and Elodie Paviot.
