Market Hotel show no mercy

Market Hotel proved far too strong for bottom of the table Lolzors, the 22-time Premier Division champions romping home to a 14-0 win at the Towers School.

The one-sided victory was Market’s first in the league this season after a slow start, with Ryan Norman top scoring with four goals.

Bradley Baker grabbed a hattrick for the second weekend in succession while Ryan Philpott and Steve Ward both netted twice. Connell Baker, Jordan Tomsett and Kenny Steward completed the scoring.

Division 1 leaders Sellindge SSC booked their place in the semi-finals of the Bodkin Cup, beating Ashford Genclik 7-4 after extra-time.

Teddy Deverson netted a hattrick adding to Salih Yalcin’s strike as Genclik led 4-1 at the start of the second half before Sellindge hit back to force extra-time despite missing two penalties in normal time.

Two goals apiece from Liam Middleton and Shaune Carey started the comeback with Tony Dunham, Ross Godden and Darren Winfield all scoring once to send the Swans through to the last-four.

Aldington moved within two points of Division 1 leaders Sellindge SSC as they returned from their trip to Folkestone United 3-1 winners with goals from Matt Moon, Dave Mackie and Stephen Cowell, who scored with an outrageous effort from halfway.

Jed Burns netted directly from a corner kick for United.

Ashley Boyd hit a hat-trick as Horsebox Bars moved up to third thanks to a 7-1 win at Lydd Grasshoppe­rs. Two goals from Tony Norris and one each for Aaron Cook and Matthew King sealed the victory. Robbie Tyas scored for Grasshoppe­rs.

Cheriton are back up to fourth as they beat local rivals Hythe Royal British Legion 3-1. Two goals from Ben Ashton and a Ryan Hall effort ensured the three points. Dan Arnold hit Hythe’s goal.

Strikes from Ben Harte and James Fraser saw Charing to a 2-1 win at Appledore. Richard Weller was on target for the hosts.

Division 2 leaders Hamstreet were beaten 4-3 at home by Park Farm Rangers. Adam DraperLewi­s netted a hat-trick for Rangers adding to Dan Hall’s strike. Ben Stone, Darren Warburton and Jake North replied for Mark Rutland’s side.

Fox Sunday continued their recent good form, thrashing Biddenden 7-1 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Peter Pain League Cup.

Doubles from both Tom Wilmshurst and Peter Povey were added to by strikes from Junior Brown, Syrus Gordon and Dave Gray.

A penalty from Harry Stow breached the Fox defence.

Joining them in the quarter finals are Trogg, who beat Ashford Cavaliers 7-2 with goals from Alex Philpott (3),Adam Phillips (2), Sam Lopez and Rob Giles. Aaron Carlton and George Mabb scored for Cavaliers.

Ashley Sales scored twice for Folkestone United Reserves, who increased their lead at the top of Division 3 with a 4-1 win at Aldington Reserves.

Jordan Burton and Stanley Dickson also found the back of the net.

Singleton Barn won 4-0 at home against promotion rivals Ashford United 3rds, with top scorer Bradley Freund netting all of the goals.

Brad Sharpe scored his second goal of the season to earn Kingsnorth Pilgrims a point as they held Smeeth & Brabourne to a 1-1 draw.

Ollie Heard hit the equaliser.
