Brexit was thwarted by egos and ambition

- Graham Epps Warehorne

Brexit-Bashers, will they never grow up?

I cannot help but wonder just how much three-and-ahalf-years wasted away by those hell-bent - for their own selfish reasons - on thwarting Brexit have cost this country. Reputation wise we are trashed, financial wise heavens only knows, hundreds of billions most likely, all down to politically motivated meddlers.

The vast majority of the political force of Remainers had one thing in mind, to show how superior and clever they were, they knew best, they were the elite. In truth what they hoped for was to persuade us they were acting in our best interests. They tried to make it look like they were so consciencebound to stop the process when all they really wanted was political kudos for themselves.

They seemed to say, look what I am doing out of conscience, out of my selfless desire to stop others less intelligent, less knowledgeable, less educated, less wise than me, making a terrible mistake. Never before has such contempt for democratic process manifested itself. They seemed to be saying, look what a great person I am standing up against injustice, fighting a wrong.

In reality they hoped to find favour with voters that would see them in a crusading light. In other words, their efforts were selfish not selfless.

I have read that as a result of their actions our economic growth was held back, incoming investment deterred, commerce placed into limbo. All for what, to serve their egos and ambitions?

So just how much did their self-serving behaviour actually cost?

Will they now, therefore, throw tantrums like babies throwing their dummies out of the pram?

Some disturbing indications of this have already manifested.

One has already put a rather foolish banner on a prominent cliff top.

Will they put their backs into the real graft of making this country prosper or throw spanners in the works? Already bleating about the use of Big Ben and the issue of a special 50p coin show me there are signs this could well be the case. Could these egotists really cut off their noses to spite their face? I think the answer is yes, they could and yes, they will; as well as bleat at each at any opportunity.

Cowards and doomsayers to a man/woman the lot of them. Yours in sheer disbelief that politicians have shown themselves so inept and continue to do so.
