Correspondent: Sue Wood, 14 Sandyhurst Lane, Westwell, Ashford Tel: 01233 623902 susanwood@uwclub.net Well-being cafe: Welcome to RENEW 18 at Brabourne Baptist Church, a quiet shared space where it’s OK not to be OK. Mondays, 3-5pm the Church becomes a community space for a variety of hobbies and activities. These are run by the community for the community. Anyone is welcome to share a hobby or skill and anyone is welcome to join a workshop or activity. They are all free. Or you can come and relax and chat, or enjoy the peace in our quiet area. The activities are based around the ‘5 ways to well-being’ which promote good mental and emotional health. To connect, give, be active, keep learning and take notice will hopefully contribute towards a preventative approach to mental ill health. A place where you are known by your name, not a label. All welcome.

Newspaper collection: The next collection is on Saturday February 8, 9.30am. Please remember we take birthday wrapping paper, birthday cards and any other paper based products and card (hard card preferably like the card used for cereal boxes) as well as any TV guides, newspapers, magazines, books, directories etc. We don’t have much room for large corrugated cardboard boxes, whether they have been flattened or not. Please use small cardboard boxes (like the ones that take reams of photocopier/ printer paper) to put your newspapers in as these are the most efficient way of collecting your papers, are just about the right weight for a Guide or Scout to lift and can go straight from collection vehicle to skip.

All proceeds go towards improving our Scouts and Guide facilities.

Godmersham

Correspondent: Carol Newton, Lamley Cottage, Canterbury Road, Godmersham, CT4 7DR Mob: 07768 074698 carolnewton84@gmail.com Church Service Suggestions: In Godmersham at 10am on the second Sunday of the month, a Lay led service is held at Godmersham Church. This is an informal form of worship led by a member, or members of the community. Usually, there are hymns or music, prayers, and words from the Iona Morning Worship. Sometimes there is the opportunity for coffee and biscuits and a chat after the service. It is hoped that it will become a community event where villagers and neighbours can meet together and become better acquainted. But how do we reflect this in the title of the service? Village Service? Morning Praise? Celebration Service? Your suggestions would be welcome to help advertise our service and what is on offer and to reassure anyone in doubt that this is a service for everyone to enjoy. Please contact Sue Lloyd with your suggestions on: 01233 812484 or lloydbiltinghq@gmail.com
