Dunham treble puts Swans top

-

Tony Dunham netted a hattrick as Sellindge SSC returned to the top of the Division 1 table with a 5-4 win against tenants Horsebox Bars.

Dunham’s treble helped the Swans end a poor start to year that had seen them go three league fixtures without a victory. Liam Middleton scored their other two goals.

Ashley Boyd hit three goals for Horsebox – including a penalty, with James Nuttall completing their tally.

In the Premier Division, Nailbox ended a run of three consecutive league defeats as Adam Ghidaoui’s late equaliser earned his side a 2-2 draw in their home clash against Mersham Sports.

Nailbox took the lead early on through Lee Wild, with Sam Wilson scoring twice to put the visitors 2-1 ahead at half-time.

Lolzors Reserves came back from going behind twice before grabbing an extra-time winner through Brad Hughes to beat Burton Grove 3-2 and book a place in the last-four of the Peter Pain Division 2 League Cup.

Lolzors’ other goals came from Brad Parker and Aiden Bourne (penalty), while Andy Crouch and James Ross scored for Burton Grove

Joining Lolzors in the semifinals are AFC Guildhall who won 6-2 at Ashford Spartans, thanks in part to a hat-trick from Peter Carey.

An own goal and further strikes from Steven Masters and Stuart Graham made sure of the victory as Guildhall led 5-2 at the break, cancelling out goals from Liam Edmonds and Tom Wilkes for the hosts.

Ashley Sales bagged a hattrick to help Folkestone United extend their lead at the top of the Division 3 to nine points with an 8-0 victory at home to Kingsnorth Pilgrims.

Ben Parker added to United’s tally with a brace, while individual goals from Jevon Hraboweckyj, Jordan Burton and Ryan Jeffrey completed the scoring.

Mersham Sports Reserves set up an Aford Awards Division 3 League Cup quarter-final against Kingsnorth Pilgrims as they beat Smeeth & Brabourne 2-1 in their rescheduled preliminary round clash. The fixture was switched to Smeeth’s home ground due to a waterlogged pitch up the A20 in Mersham, but waiving home advantage didn’t seem to affect Tom Shaw’s side.

Luke Goddard and Craig Thomson both hit the target, cancelling out James Evans’ strike for Smeeth.

Further ahead in the competition, Bromley Green Reserves won their quarterfinal clash at the Ridge, beating Singleton Barn 4-2.

Goals from Jordan Osborne, Sam Ades, Ashley Webster and Charlie Wallis saw the Green march on into the last-four of the competition where they now face Division 3 leaders Folkestone United Reserves for a place in the final. Barn replied through skipper Paul Halliday and Jordan Luckman.
