A singer-songwriter well known across Ashford and east Kent has released his second album.

Trevor Osborne, who launched his debut CD in 2012, is regularly heard performing at pubs and care homes, and is often spotted busking in the town centre.

Now, after heading to both Denmark and Southampton to record the work, the Brookfield Road resident has applied the finishing touches to his latest album - Remarkably Unremarkable.

Influenced by the likes of Randy Newman and The Kinks, the 58-year-old is proud of his new tracks.

“I am very pleased to have got the album out,” Mr Osborne said.

“My first album - Way Past Time - was a bit of a mid-life crisis but this one is more of a comedic piece and it has got a quirky feel to it.

“It is a comedic look at the human condition portrayed by a cast of eccentric oddball characters.

“If people can understand the benefits of ringing their friends when they’re out or have empathy for a lonesome mugger, then they will enjoy this album.”

Since setting up his own business in 2000, Mr Osborne - dubbed the ‘The Travelling Troubadour’ - has become a seasoned musician notching up hundreds of public performances.

The former North School pupil, who is half of ‘The Great Mates’ duo with friend Mat

Wiles, also won kmfm’s countywide 2010 World Cup song competition with his Go Win for England entry.

His new 10-track second album has been produced by Denmark-based multi-instrumentalist Paul Eastham.

“I am very lucky to have Paul on board producing it,” Mr Osborne added.

“His musical input complements what I do and he understands my songs.

“You can spend five days recording two or three songs so it does take a long time, but it’s great to now have it out there.”

Throughout his decades of performing, Mr Osborne has continued to expand his song repertoire by playing at care homes including Heathfield and Park View.

He is already planning to release his third album - called Older Songs Revisited - and hopes to start recording later this year.
