Scarecrow trail to run this weekend

-

A village is to hold its first scarecrow trail this weekend, raising money for community facilities.

The inaugural Boughton Lees Scarecrow Safari is being held over Saturday and Sunday in place of the annual fair due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The safari will take place around the village green up to Eastwell Drive, down to the baptist church on Wye Road, and as far as the 60mph sign on Pilgrims Way.

This year’s theme is reduce, reuse and recycle, and organisers have encouraged people to use what’s around their homes instead of buying new items just for the competition.

A trail map is hoped to be made available online once all of the entries are in.

All entrants have paid £5 to enter, with all money raised going towards the fair fund which supports the upkeep of the green and the Iron Room.
