Tenterden clinched a sixwicket win over Dartford in the Clubbie Cup.

Isaac Carney was the main man with the bat for Tenterden, hitting an unbeaten 79 in the victory, while Tom Richards picked up six wickets.

In Division 2 of the East Kent NHS Heroes League, leaders Whitstable beat Sandwich Town 2nds by 56 runs.

Defending 242-9, Whitstable dismissed Town for 186.

A 91-run opening stand between Byron Gould (83) and Harrison Legg (58) set Sandwich on their way.

A half-century from Daniel McHugh helped Nonington to a 36-run victory over Walmer.

McHugh hit 52 and Kieron Burrett contributed 39 as Nonington posted 202-8. Charlie Walsh hit 56 for Walmer but they were bowled out for 166.

Rishi Milward-Bose hit a half-century for Faversham (170 all out) in a friendly defeat to New Ash Green (172-7).

Broadstairs’ remarkable Kent Cricket League T20 Cup run came to an end on Sunday in a thrilling finish against Premier Division side Tunbridge Wells.

Needing two to win off the final ball, David Smith’s maximum against his former team ensured they progress to meet Old Wilsonians in the final.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Broadstairs stumbled to a tentative 13-2 in the fifth over and it was only when the reliable partnership of Elliot Fox (48) and Matt Frewin (19) came together that the scoring rate started to pick up.

The hosts finished on a defendable 139-9, after hitting a six off their last ball.

Tunbridge Wells got off to a poor start in reply, skipper Chris Williams departing with no runs on the board. However, some excellent batting elsewhere put them in the driving seat with Viraj Bhatia (38) and Alex Williams (37) getting the better of the Broadstairs attack.

Smith, a former Broadstairs player, hit a composed 50 off 28 balls to clinch victory on the final ball of the match. Needing two to win, he dispatched Jamie Dewell for six to reach 144-6.

Harbledown’s Sunday side clinched a 133-run win over Minster Sunday XI after batting first and posting a formidable 321-4 as the opening pair of Edward Solly (94) and Greg Shields (150) put on 173 for the first wicket.

Minster were all out for 188 in reply, Harry Smedley (65) and Ross Nixon (42) the standout performers with the bat.

Kent Spitfires will play Surrey in the quarter-finals of the T20 Blast on October 1 - after losing to them in their final group match.

Kent ended up third in the South Group after a six-wicket defeat, ironically, at group winners Surrey on Sunday.

Openers Zak Crawley and Daniel Bell-Drummond had got Kent off to a solid start, but both fell in quick succession to leave Spitfires 62-2 in nine overs.

England duo Joe Denly and Sam Billings (pictured) put on 65 in just over six overs but Denly was removed by Reece Topley for 29 off 21 balls.

Billings made a 33-ball half-century but wickets fell rapidly around him as the Spitfires lost their way with the bat.

Kent scored just seven runs in their last two overs and from a position of strength at 136-3 in 16 overs, they ended rather tamely on 159-7.

After Joe Denly removed Will

Jacks for just four, England oneday opener Jason Roy and T20 specialist Laurie Evans put on a match-winning partnership of 135 for the second wicket in just 14 overs. By the time Evans dragged on to Grant Stewart, he had scored 73 in just 45 balls with three sixes and seven fours.

Stewart had Rory Burns caught behind for a golden duck before Jamie Smith survived the hat-trick ball.

Roy was then bowled by Matt Milnes for 72 from 52 balls but the game was already up by then and Rikki Clarke hit the winning boundary with eight balls to spare.
