Tom opens up golf studio
Kingsnorth Golf Club reopened to members on Monday and PGA Professional Tom Muchmore had more than one reason to celebrate.
Not only was golf returning from lockdown, he was able to open up his new coaching studio at the club, after spending the last few weeks turning an old storage room into a place where he can now give one to one sessions in private.
With golf returning from a three month break due to Covid restrictions, there might be plenty of people wanting some coaching.
“I had a lot of message from golfers who had been counting down the days and hours,” said Muchmore.
“I had a net set up in my garden and clients with the same set up so we have done some virtual sessions, to keep people occupied more than anything else. I might be very rusty myself alongside a lot of rusty golfers!”
Muchmore has been a pro at Kingsnorth GC since 2016, having previously been at Ashford Golf Club since the age of 11. He’s been involved in professional golf for around 10 years now and having his own studio has been a long-term ambition.
He said: “It has been 10 years of working in golf to get to this stage, where I can open my own studio. It has always been an ambition of mine.
“I am really looking forward to getting started again after three months of lockdown. Seeing everyone again but being able to open the studio makes it even better, it puts the icing on the cake really.
“All my coaching can now be done in an enclosed area, private space for one to one.
“We have a roller shutter at the front which goes out onto the main driving range, and now we can work from a specialised room with the technology that is involved in the coaching sessions.
“I can take the coaching to its full potential now that I have the space to utilise. I have had lots of good feedback and I think people are excited to see what’s instore.”
