Collins claims club best
Ashford & District’s Nick Collins rewrote the club record books at the Paddock Wood HalfMarathon.
Collins finished in 28th place and ninth in the V40 age category with a new club best of 1hr14min14sec.
Alice Cook claimed a top-20 place in the ladies’ race in 1:47.04 while Stu Nunn timed 1:49.46.
Paul Moses finished in third place at the Badlesmere 10k in 42min53sec. Paul Crisp, running his first race for the club, took sixth place and was first V40 with 44.09.
Adrian Mood finished in 16th with 48.07 and but for a mix-up at registration this would have given A&D first place in the men’s team standings.
The ladies were led home by Chris Costiff with 49.49 for fourth place. Strong runs from
Sally Smith (sixth, 51.29) and Emma Hanna, (seventh, 51.40) secured the ladies’ team prize while Holly Cook, with a time of 52.59 for ninth place, underlined a strong team performance.
In the London Summer 10k Emma Jenkins timed 1:22.04.
Rik Holden took part in the SVN Pisces Marathon at Cyclopark stopping the clock at 3:41.41. Becky Hodgson ran the half-marathon distance in 3:21.11.
■ Three Ashford Striders have joined the parkrun 100 club.
Justin Burden (26min56sec), Jason Sanders (28.06) and Justine Wearn (30.57) will now be eligible to claim commemorative T-shirts following last weekend’s race at Ashford.

Three Striders ran the Sittingbourne parkrun. Leigh Freeman finished in 29.30, Tyree Spicer clocked 29.31 and Lisa Gribbin timed 30.19.
