Power of rice revealed after laptop mishap

You probably won’t be interested to read that I, being an old man, like to take a pint of sweetened milk to bed with me.

What you might find interesting is this; last Thursday, I rather cleverly managed to tip the entire pint over the keyboard on which this is being typed. Naturally, it stopped working.

Fortunately, we had a large quantity of rice in the store cupboard. Mrs B grabbed the laptop, put it into a carrier bag and poured in the rice - we had, of course, wiped the milk from the keyboard.

It was with little hope that I switched the thing on the following morning but, bingo! Up came the old familiar message ‘Good morning Stu.’
