A LEGO treat at the railway

-

An exhibition featuring 30 famous locomotives and landmarks made entirely from LEGO steams in to Kent this Easter.

It is the first time Bricks Britannia, which runs at the Kent & East Sussex Railway in Tenterden from Saturday, April 1 to Easter Monday, April 17, has gone on show in the UK.

It includes an 8m-long model of the Flying Scotsman with three Pullman carriages and charts the history of Britain from Neolithic Stonehenge through to the supersonic age of Concorde, and has been created by Bright Bricks, featured on Channel 4’s Inside LEGO at Christmas. Thousands of bricks have been used to create all the models.

Andre Freeman from the railway at Tenterden, said: “This is the first time this amazing exhibition has been on show in the UK so we are very excited.”

The exhibition, which is also on from Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23 and Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30, as well as the May bank holiday weekend, includes workshops where visitors can build their own LEGO steam locomotive and Pullman carriage.

Entry to Bricks Britannia is free when you buy a Travelcard for all-day travel between Tenterden and Bodiam stations. The workshops cost £10 when booking online.

Fares are £18, £12 for three to 15-yearolds and £38 for a family.
