The great escape room

-

Just over two years ago, Medway escape room project, Escape Plan LIVE began for what was due to be an eight-week run.

But it proved so popular, organisers have just celebrated more than two years of running and expanding their operation.

Designed for people to test their wits searching for clues to solve mysterious situations, the attraction was originally in the Gate House at Chatham’s Fort Amherst but has since gone on to expand to purpose-built rooms in Chatham’s Riverside One Studios, some of which are secret, hidden rooms.

Ross Friday, who has been involved with Fort Amherst’s Halloween Horrors, said: “These games were created with everyone in mind in an attempt to give families, couples, groups of friends and businesses an activity where they must work together to win.

“We not only have groups of all ages, but also sometimes have all ages within groups – so there’s often three generations of the same family enjoying the same activity.”

The psychology lecturer at the University of Greenwich, and his wife Sandra studied ways to engage the mind and working as a team before starting out.

Thrill-seekers have just an hour to escape each situation and they have proved popular with local businesses for team building activities.

The latest challenge, Blackout, opens this weekend. To book, or for more details, visit Escapeplanlive.com or email Enquiries@escapeplanlive.com. Standard ticket prices are £9.50.
