Orchestra plays from memory

-

The Aurora make memorable music – and they can prove it!

The orchestra, which come to Canterbury on Friday, May 26, are the only orchestra in the world presenting entire symphonies played from memory.

Their unusual technique will be applied to Brahms’ First Symphony in their Brahms From Memory concert at the Gulbenkian.

The group started out in 2004 when a group of like-minded friends got together under the direction of principal conductor Nicholas Collon. Now one of Europe’s leading chamber orchestras, their skill means the audience feels more involved in the performance. Tickets for the show at the Gulbenkian at 7.30pm cost £20 or £10 for under 18s.
