Celebrating musical genius

A towering figure in post war British jazz, Tubby Hayes was a saxophonist and flute genius. To celebrate Tubby’s music, multi-award winning tenor saxophonist Simon Spillett has assembled a quartet of young musicians to give their own slant on the Hayes legacy, featuring pianist David Ferris, bassist Stuart Barker and drummer Mark Hale.

The Simon Spillett Quartet play the music of Tubby Hayes will be at the Anchorians Rugby Club in Darland Avenue, Gillingham, on Friday, July 21 at 8pm.
