Learn about the his­toric ap­ples on of­fer at the Na­tional Fruit Col­lec­tion – and get to taste them too. As part of Maid­stone Mu­seum’s se­ries of Mu­seum Lates evenings, there will be a talk from a rep­re­sen­ta­tive from Brog­dale, near Faver­sham, cel­e­brat­ing the an­nual har­vest on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 28, dis­cussing the 4,000 va­ri­eties of fruit trees, fol­lowed by a spot of tast­ing. The mu­seum will be open, so you can look around the gal­leries af­ter­wards and the cafe will be open. Doors open at 6pm and the talk starts at 6.30pm. Tickets for over-18s cost £5 each.
