MEMORIES OF DREAMLAND
Do you have cherished memories of Dreamland?
You can share them, and be part of the project keeping one of the country's oldest amusement parks open, at a roadshow next week. The Dreamland Trust, which came up with the idea of reopening the park, now run by Sands Heritage Limited on behalf of the local district council, is holding the free event at Turner Contemporary in Margate.
People can talk to representatives from the trust and find out more about the work of the charity and share their memories of Dreamland at the informal event on Wednesday, March 28. Chairman Bernie Morgan said: "Dreamland has been visited by thousands of people of all ages over many decades and has been the source of many special memories for so many people. We are committed to preserving the park’s heritage so that it can create memories for generations to come. "By making the history of the park accessible to the public through a programme of community and learning opportunities and projects we can help p to preserve the heritage ofo Dreamland."
The drop-in event will be e from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and refreshments will be e available.
The trust originated the idea of reopening Dreamland as an amusement park of historic rides, and worke ed with partners, Thanet District Council and San nds Heritage, to deliver the project.
