DINNER AND A SHOW... PERFECT

-

There’s no need to rustle sweet papers during any performances at the Astor Theatre in Deal, as you can book in for dinner beforehand.

The Herb Garden cafe opened recently, run by local Herb Garden Catering, offering pre-theatre dinners before selected shows. The cafe offers a seasonal menu, using local suppliers, brunch and lunchtime dishes, light bites and coffee. Brunch dishes range from sausage toastie or Mexican Breakfast Quesdilla, avocado and scorche tomato toasted sourdough or chorizo, potato and spring onion hash.

The lunch menu features goodies such as pulled chicken, mozzarella and kale pesto panini, and smoked ham, mature cheddar and red onion toastie, or slow cooked chicken and leek pie and roast radish, new potato and mackerel salad.

Dishes range from £2.50 for triple cooked chips to the Herb Garden Steak Sandwich for £5.50. There is a knife and fork logo next to the events when you can order a meal beforehand, from 5.30pm. The cafe is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 9am to 3pm. A two course meal for two costs £30, and needs to be booked in advance.

The next shows where pre-dining is available include the Kast Off Kinks on Saturday, April 14 and Maggie Bell and Dave Kelly on Friday, April 20.

You can also book for deluxe wine tasting with a three course meal on Thursday, April 26, and Maddie Prior and Hannah James on Friday, April 27.
