Alesha Dixon will be meeting fans in Bluewater this week when the Britain’s Got Talent judge will be signing copies of her debut book, Lightning Girl.

It’s the story of 11 year-old superhero Aurora who has to find a way to balance the problems she faces at school while learning how to control her new-found powers.

The mum-of-one said: “My inspiration to create a superhero began with wanting my young daughter to feel empowered. It’s been a dream to create a strong role model that any child can look up to.” The 39-year-old’s career started out as a singer with pop group Mis-teeq before setting out on her own in 2005. Two years later she won Strictly Come Dancing, before going on to join the judging panel at the BBC show.

She will be at Waterstones, Bluewater on Friday, April 6 at 3pm.
