Piao is accepted into the ranks of the army of King Yin Zheng, whose brother Cheng Jiao is orchestrating a plot to dethrone his sibling. Cheng Jiao’s forces attack Xin’s village. Thankfully, the plucky orphan escapes and he heads to a rendezvous with the remains of Yin Zheng’s army.

The subsequent quest takes Xin high into the mountains in the company of a guide called He Liao Diao.

The TV series based on the colourful DC Comics character of the same name casts a spell on home formats this week. Dr Abby Arcane returns to her close-knit hometown of Marais in Louisiana with her colleague Harlan Edwards to formally investigate reports of a deadly swamp-born virus. Local police officer Matthew Cable, one of Abby’s childhood friends, assists the scientists during their inquiries.

The evidence leads to a disgraced biologist called Alec Holland, who claims that powerful local businessman Avery Sutherland might be responsible for the lethal mutagen in the water. Soon after, Alex vanishes without trace and a mysterious creature with red eyes emerges from the murky marsh to dole out justice from the supernatural world.
