SERIES Grey’s Anatomy Disney+

The hit medical drama created by Shonda Rhimes stunned viewers last series by bidding farewell to Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey after more than 400 episodes of trouble and strife at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. In the opening episode of the 20th series, Meredith rethinks her decision while Dr Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) fights for her life.

Dr Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman) attempts to perform damage control from the interns’ actions, which resulted in a patient’s death and could open the hospital to a costly legal action. There isn’t time to dwell on the current crisis because Simone (Alexis Floyd) and Lucas (Niko Terho) face a new emergency that offers the pair a chance at redemption. The show is streaming from March 28 exclusively on Disney+.

SERIES American Rust Amazon Prime

This crime drama hasn’t had the easiest time of it. The first series was produced by the US broadcaster Showtime, who decided not make a follow-up after some poor reviews. Undaunted by such things, Amazon believed there was still life in the tale of police chief Del Harris, so commissioned a second run. Jeff Daniels reprises his role as Harris, and while the story deals with the traumatic events at the end of its predecessor, the main thrust focuses on the jaded cop’s investigation into a series of mail-bomb murders.

SERIES S.W.A.T. Now

The sharp-shooting police drama headed by Shemar Moore as S.W.A.T. team leader Sergeant II Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson Jr returns for a final hurrah on Sky Max and streams exclusively on Now. A farewell season of 13 episodes begins with Hondo and the team heading to Mexico to shepherd a fugitive across the US border. The mission doesn’t unfold as planned and Hondo is reunited with an old witness tied to the case, whose survival is paramount to ensuring justice is served.

The Baxters Amazon Prime

This 10-parter is the latest project for Northern Irelandborn actress Roma Downey, who sprung to fame as the central character in Touched by an Angel. Like that show, this is a faith-infused series; it focuses on Elizabeth and John (played by Downey and former Dynasty, Happy Days and Married… with Children star Ted Mckinley) and their five kids. The story follows eldest daughter Kari as she finds comfort within the family after discovering that her professor husband has been having an affair with one of his students.

SERIES Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Apple TV+

The revamped version of Jim Henson’s much-loved puppet series debuted in January 2022, impressing and enthralling a new generation of fans. And then it all went quiet, leaving parents and their offspring wondering if a second run would ever appear. Thankfully, after an absence of more than two years, the Fraggles and their friends are back. All episodes are being made available at once and follow what happens as big changes occur at the Rock, forcing the Fraggles, Doozers and Gorgs to confront their pasts while celebrating everything that brings them together. You’ll be treated to lots of fun, games and laughs as well as some wonderful new songs – so make sure your are prepared to dance your cares away.
