Join the river ramble in aid of Demelza
A river ramble on Easter Monday will raise money for Demelza children’s hospice.
The walk will take place along the picturesque Great Stour Way between Canterbury and Chartham.
Fundraisers can choose to stop after trekking three miles from the city to the village, or take on the return journey too. It is being organised by the Forest of Blean Rotary Club and will be started by the Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Cllr Sally Waters, at 11am.
Club president Bryan Collings said “Knowing the incredible work Demelza does I would encourage as many people as possible to come along.
“The money raised can make a huge difference to the enormous task the hospice has in raising funds to provide one-to-one care for those who may not live a long life, but, with the care they receive, live a full life.”
The walk starts at the Wincheap park and ride car park and includes an Easter bonnet competition, as well as prizes for best dressed buggy and dog, an egg hunt and face painting. There will be refreshments at Chartham village hall.
Entry is £5 for adults in advance (£6 on the day), children £2 (£2.50) or £14 for a family-of-four (£15). Children under five go free. For a registration form, visit www. rotarycfob.org or call Demelza on 01795 845288.
