Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District
Cyclists and a lack of common sense
As a small trader in St Peter’s Street in Canterbury, I watch cyclists every day riding down a pedestrian-only area.
I have seen many collisions, some of them knocking people over.
I have written to the highways authority over the past three years requesting signs.
I and others, including councillors, have addressed meetings on the matter.
I am pleased to be able to tell you Kent Highways is now looking at the traffic order to see exactly what the law is and is engaging specialists to get advice.
So in three years of constant accidents we are now making progress.
