Tankerton under-13s were on the wrongend of a unflattering 5-0 defeat at the hands of Dover Rangers in EKYFL. Despite playing with 10, Tankerton were dominant early on and only excellent keeping by the visitors kept them at bay. Jack Whitaker, Alfie Cotton, Ben Corrigan and Aiden Chrascina were denied while Harry Pout in the Tankerton goal was untroubled behind Saul Sharp, Danny Sargent, Noa van De Kamp and Max Laleng. However, a deflected shot gave Rangers the lead, quickly followed by a breakaway second. Noah Smith tested the keeper twice more at the other end but there was no way through and a controversial penalty made it 3-0 at the break. Whitaker and Corrigan went close in the second half but as the team tired, Dover made the most of their man advantage with two late goals to give the score a lopsided look.

Canterbury City under-14 girls got back to winning ways with a 4-0 win at Folkestone in KGLFL Division 2 on Sunday. Libby Rowland opened City’s account in the first half and this was followed by a second for the winger after the break, a superbly taken half-volley from the edge of the area into the top corner. Tiegan Stevens also scored twice to seal the points. Coach Paul Stevens said: “Our defence were outstanding which gives us a great chance in all games. I know the scorers tend to get the praise but without a strong keeper and backline, we wouldn’t have half the results we have had.” Joint players-of-the-match were Amy Tritton and Ellie Jordan. City: Menniss, Howard, Walker, Tritton, Cory, Jordan, Stevens, Worboyes, Vergo, Wilson, Rowland.
