Title wrapped up but battle behind goes on

Labour Club B were crowned Whitstable & District Darts League Division 2 champions as results elsewhere mean they cannot be caught, but the race for second is extremly tight. Two Brewers A won a thrilling game 13-12 over Old East Kent X, with Greg De Pulford leading the way with four wins, although Matt Weller and Lee Hancock did the same for the X team. Homing Club are still in the race for second after a 21-4 win over Two Brewers Anglers. Tracey Stonham and Darren Brownlee both won all five and had excellent support from Daniel Evans and Dan Jackson. Division 1’s battle for second is also in the balance, with Coach & Horses and Two Brewers Q both involved. Coach & Horses beat Monument A 16-9, with Dave Moulding, Dean Owen and Clive Johnson all winning four, with Moulding adding a 100 checkout. The Two Brewers Q eased past British Legion Wanderers 18-7 with Steve Milward winning all five with support from Dave Cambourn, Richard Stepney and Ant Warren. Stepney also had a 102 checkout while Ian Ball hit four 140s for the Wanderers. Monument B have virtually secured the League Cup with a 20-5 win over British Legion B. Mike Cattell was in scintillat­ing form, winning five, hitting a 180 and recording the season’s highest checkout of 156. Roy Gough chipped-in with five wins and a 112 checkout, with support from Steven Murray and Darren Abbott. Graham Goodwin had the consolatio­n of hitting a 180 for the Legion.
